As a Disney Destinations Specialist my role is to help people plan the best Walt Disney World vacation experience possible - and I do this for all budgets. Over the past few days I've been working with a client who typically stays off property at a well-appointed villa style resort with a well-themed pool.
Staying in a villa room is very important to this client and together we selected Disney's Beach Club Villas. The cost is more than double than the off property resort. Of course I've explained the "Disney Difference"and benefits like free parking, Extra Magic Hours, Dining Plans and complimentary transportation.
Here's an interesting fact: 90% of those who stay on property will choose to stay with Disney again. So if Disney can get off property travelers to come and stay at one of its resorts, chances are they will come back to Disney.
So my question is, why? Why are we willing to pay the higher rates to stay on Disney property? Is it convenience, the immersive experience, an emotional connection, safety? When I go, I don't even think of staying off property, I'll choose a value resort category over an off property business-class hotel for the same price.
Why do you think so many people choose to stay on property vs. off property?
