Best Walt Disney World Pools
As a travel agent I'm often asked to quote a disney hotel that has a kid-friendly pool. Generally speaking, the pools at Walt Disney World are all well themed and completely kid friendly. If you have kids, expect pool time to be a highlight of the trip, even if the weather is cool (all pools are heated). In the afternoons recreation counselors set up dance parties, Disney trivia contests and games for kids of all ages. If you want quiet time at the pool, go in the morning or early evening.
To become a best Walt Disney World pool, we looked those that offered a unique experience, exceptional theme, or special surroundings or services.
Disney's Yacht & Beach Club Resorts
Behind these two sister-resorts is Stormalong Bay, the largest pool complex at Walt Disney World. In addition to a life-size shipwreck, there's a water slide, a sprawling sand bottom pool, lazy river and 3 whirlpools.
Four Seasons resort at Walt Disney World
There are multiple pool areas: an infinity pool just for adults. The Mansion - a choreographed interactive splash pad for little ones. Explorer Island - an 11,000 sq. ft. lazy river surrounded by shady palm trees. Drop Zone - 242 ft. dueling water slides. Plus a climbing wall, teen center and more.
Disney's polynesian Village Resort
Both pools at the Polynesian were recently refurbished. The feature pool overlooks a distant Cinderella Castle, complete with a volcano water slide and an adventure-themed water playscape for little ones. The quiet pool was recently refurbished with a South Seas Island motif.
Disney's Pop Century Resort
There are several themed pools throughout this resort - check out their unique shapes and surroundings. The Flower-Power inspired Hippy Dippy Pool, a computer themed pool, and a pool shaped like a giant bowling pin.
Disney's Wilderness Lodge Resort
The Pacific Northwest style landscaping will make it hard to believe you're actually in Florida! The pool itself was designed to feel like a natural spring nestled among the rustic landscape. Don't miss the geyser, it erupts hourly.
Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge
This one is truly unique. The pool is surrounded by beautiful landscaping and African-inspired decor. It's one of the biggest pools on property and it handles crowds well. Just steps away from the pool are the savannahs where you view live animals.
Disney's Coronado Springs Resort
The feature pool is quite large and features a full-scale Mayan temple waterslide.
The Villas at Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge - Kidani Village
Two heated pools with thrilling slide, a children’s pool, and interactive water feature with an oasis theme.
Boardwalk Inn and Villas - Freakishly huge clown face creates the backdrop of the feature pool. Yikes!
Disney's Grand Floridian Resort - Many find it to be rather unremarkable and not well integrated into the resort's Victorian theme.
